AWS unveiled Amazon Connect Decisions, an agentic AI supply chain tool that combines more than 25 specialized tools to centralize data, triage alerts and translate demand forecasts. Connect Decisions aims to help companies make more informed decisions in hours instead of days, drawing on Amazon's decades of experience managing over 400 million SKUs.
More than 10 beta customers have been using Connect Decisions since late last year, including Wells Vehicle Electronics and TVS Motors. The platform connects data from multiple systems into a central hub and works alongside existing tools such as ERP. Its AI teammates can trace an issue's root cause and present potential resolutions.
Beyond translating demand forecasts, Connect Decisions can assess thousands of alerts to prioritize tasks. The AI agents can detect "invisible patterns" to flag unnecessary stock. The platform offers both visual and chat user interfaces, allowing planners to ask the model questions directly and use system-created charts for forecasting decisions.
Abhishek Gupta, Director of Forecasting and Labs at Amazon SCOT (Amazon Supply Chain Optimization Technology), said SCOT is one of Connect Decisions's foundation models. Gupta described SCOT as a distribution of AI machine learning and optimization systems that determine which items Amazon buys, where inventory should be placed and how it is stored across the global fulfillment network. Connect Decisions is positioned as a "new evolution" of AWS Supply Chain, which launched in 2022 and was expanded with four new capabilities in 2024.
