Corrections Policy

Reporting an Error

If you spot a factual error, mistaken attribution, translation error or missing information in a published article, please write to info@sedatonat.com. Where possible please include:

  • The article URL
  • A direct quote of the affected passage
  • Source or explanation of the correct information

Review Process

Reports are reviewed within 48 hours. Confirmed errors are corrected the same day. Where a technical industry matter requires additional verification, the timeline may extend by a few days; the reporter is given an interim update in that case.

Types of Correction

1. Typographic correction (silent)

Spelling, grammar and formatting fixes are made silently; no notice is added.

2. Factual correction (visible)

For factual fixes — numbers, dates, names, companies, locations — a "Correction:" note is added at the bottom of the article, including the date and substance of the correction.

3. Material correction or retraction

If the error changes the article's central claim, the headline and body are substantially revised. Significant portions of the original text are preserved beneath an "Earlier version" heading. Removal from publication occurs only under legal compulsion or when the entire content is found to be wrong; in that case the URL serves a 410 / 301 redirect to a clarification page.

Translation Corrections

Inconsistencies between the Turkish and English versions are tracked separately. When a translation error is identified, both language versions are updated simultaneously.

Transparency

Commit history of all published corrections is available in the open-source git repository. For pre/post-correction comparison requests, write to info@sedatonat.com.
