SAFEEN Subsea Launches Eco-Friendly Unmanned Vessel: 'SAFEEN Green'
SAFEEN Subsea, part of AD Ports Group's Maritime & Shipping Cluster, has introduced 'SAFEEN Green', a remotely operated unmanned surface vessel (USV) capable of operating up to 200 nautical miles offshore. The vessel is designed to gather high-quality geophysical and hydrographic data with minimal environmental impact.
SAFEEN Green is operated by a Remote Operation Centre (ROC) onshore and employs advanced navigation and safety technologies for seamless and secure operations. The vessel runs on 100% renewable electricity or biofuel, emitting just 10% of the emissions of a conventional vessel, thereby significantly reducing its carbon footprint.
Its autonomous operational capabilities enhance safety and eliminate risks. Dual autopilot systems, redundant HD cameras, and advanced monitoring systems ensure safe and efficient operations. AD Ports noted that the vessel's payload options and fuel economy deliver cost-effectiveness without compromising performance.
Captain Ammar Al Shaiba, CEO of AD Ports Group's Maritime & Shipping Cluster, said: "By integrating advanced remote operations and zero-emission capabilities, we are setting new standards for the maritime industry. While encompassing safety and efficiency, we remain competitive and contribute to a greener future."
Tareq Abdulla Al Marzooqi, CEO of SAFEEN Subsea, stated: "SAFEEN Green, with its ability to operate independently for extended periods and perform a wide range of subsea missions, is poised to become an indispensable asset for offshore EPC projects in the region."
SAFEEN Green underwent comprehensive testing in the North Sea before deployment in the United Arab Emirates. The vessel's operational versatility enables it to serve various industries, including oil and gas, wind farms, and deep-sea minerals, offering innovative and cost-effective solutions.
