Hapag-Lloyd transitions to electronic bill of lading via GSBN infrastructure

Global Shipping Business Network (GSBN) announced that Hapag-Lloyd will use the IQAX eBL system to issue electronic bills of lading (eBL). The initiative, conducted through GSBN's infrastructure in collaboration with the Digital Container Shipping Association (DCSA), aims to achieve broader industry adoption. The APIs enable data exchange in compliance with DCSA's latest eBL API standards (version 3.0).

Nilesh Popat of Hapag-Lloyd emphasized that the need for digital solutions has become increasingly critical as global supply chains grow more complex and volatile. IQAX eBL, delivered via GSBN's blockchain network, offers customers greater choice, visibility, and control. The company aims to achieve 100 percent electronic bill of lading adoption by 2030.
