Amazon Boosts Shipments Without Packaging
Sedat Onat
Amazon is stepping up efforts to ship products in their original packaging—without extra boxes or bags—as part of a broader drive to reduce packaging waste, CO2 emissions, and costs. The company is conducting research at its Packaging Innovation Lab near Seattle and says it already ships 11% of products sold globally without additional packaging. Heavy or bulky items undergo additional testing. Amazon is monitoring customer feedback closely to maintain success rates for approved products in the program.
