Marlink has integrated Stellar Cyber's AI-driven network detection and response technology into its security operations platform, in a move aimed at strengthening cyber resilience across shipping and other remote industries. The partnership lets Marlink unify its existing cybersecurity tools and data within Stellar Cyber's Open XDR architecture.

The new setup improves visibility across IT and operational technology (OT) environments while accelerating threat detection, investigation and response. "We wanted a fast, scalable, and API-driven way to further strengthen threat detection, investigation, and response across our IT and OT environments," said Nicolas Furgé, president of Marlink Cyber.

Marlink provides managed digital and connectivity services to sectors including merchant shipping, offshore energy and cruise vessels. The company said the system will help identify malicious traffic and unknown devices more quickly, while simplifying security management across fleets.

By deploying AI-based behavioural monitoring rather than static rule-based detection, the tie-up reflects a broader industry trend toward continuous, automated cyber defence capable of responding to evolving threats across both shipboard and shore-side systems. Recent years have seen ransomware and targeted attacks intensify pressure on maritime fleets, making AI-driven approaches increasingly attractive.

The deal is seen as an example of how layering security analytics on top of existing connectivity infrastructure can scale, as fleet operators move toward more defence-in-depth cyber strategies.
