CMA CGM Group, Marlink and Eutelsat will deploy OneWeb LEO connectivity across CMA CGM's global fleet, integrating it with existing GEO and LEO networks through Marlink's XChange NextGen platform. Under the multi-year agreement, more than 300 vessels will be equipped with OneWeb LEO services over the next nine months. Delivered and integrated by Marlink, the solution layers multi-orbit satellite networks to provide high-resilience, high-throughput, low-latency connectivity at an unprecedented fleet scale.

The combination enables operational efficiency, real-time data exchange and crew services comparable to shore-based digital performance. The system also supports CMA CGM's decarbonisation goals: routes, speeds and fuel consumption can be optimised in real time. Built on Marlink's XChange NextGen edge cloud platform, the architecture provides a central backbone for application deployment and data analytics on vessels.

For CMA CGM, a persistent connectivity architecture in which the vessel almost feels onshore is a critical infrastructure cornerstone for advanced digitalisation applications. The connectivity can power predictive maintenance, digital-twin applications and AI-driven route optimisation. The multi-orbit architecture moves shipping into a new connectivity era beyond traditional satellite.
