Shanghai, 25 April 2026 – The Green Supply Chain Transformation Forum, themed "Carbon Co-explore, Chain the Future Shore", was held at the Baowu Carbon Neutrality Industrial Park as part of Shanghai Climate Week 2026.

The forum was co-hosted by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and Alibaba Group, convening companies and stakeholders from solar and storage, electric vehicle and technology sectors to discuss value chain decarbonization, overseas compliance and cross-border cooperation. Discussions highlighted how green supply chain transformation is evolving from company-level environmental initiatives toward more systematic, cross-sector collaboration — increasingly shaping competitiveness and resilience across global value chains.

In opening remarks, Dominic Waughray, Executive Vice President of WBCSD, announced the council will deepen its global cooperation with the Global Solar and Storage Sustainability Alliance (GSSA) to jointly advance the green transformation of the global solar and storage value chain. GSSA officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EARTH & LIFE SYMBIO aiming to strengthen mutual exchanges and learning in responsible supply chain governance and sustainable development practices.

During a roundtable dialogue, EV-sector representatives — including Changan, Geely Holding, BYD, Chery, NIO and XPeng — alongside solar and storage leaders Tongwei, JinkoSolar and CNGR Advanced Material shared perspectives on managing compliance requirements while supporting business sustainability in overseas markets. The forum established a multi-stakeholder dialogue mechanism between industry organizations, international platforms and businesses, setting a new example for shared standards and experience exchange in the global green supply chain.
