EuroSib SPb Transport Systems launched a new consolidation container train service from Siberia to China on 15 April. The train carries linseeds and rapeseed oil from Novosibirsk to Xian (China), opening a new logistics channel for Siberia's agricultural exports. The train, loaded with 62 High Cube containers, crossed into China via the Dostyk border checkpoint. This service is regarded as a significant milestone in EuroSib's rail logistics activities in the Siberia region.

EuroSib was already providing regular service with up to seven block trains per month from its own terminal at the Inya Vostochnaya railway station in Novosibirsk. The newly launched consolidation train service will operate once a month in addition to the existing regular services and will facilitate access to the Chinese market for smaller shippers as well. The consolidation model offers cost advantages to shippers by combining cargo volumes that would not fill a train for a single shipper.

EuroSib officials announced that the consolidation train will carry not only grain products such as barley, peas, and wheat, but also food products, vegetable oil, beverages, and timber goods. Strengthening Siberia's rail connection to the Chinese market will reduce the impact of fluctuations in global maritime transport and offer shippers an alternative logistics corridor. China's railway infrastructure investments under the Belt and Road Initiative are increasing the efficiency of such services.
