Eurosib has launched a direct railway container service from Xian in China to its terminal in Orekhovo-Zuevo in Moscow region. The project follows the strategic cooperation memorandum the company signed with Xi'an Free Trade Port Construction and Operation Co. Ltd. in June 2025.
The service consolidates cargo from various origins in China. Within this scope, shipments from Shensi, Hebei, Shandong, Zhejiang, and Guangdong provinces are aggregated and moved to Orekhovo-Zuevo. Trains will run on a weekly schedule. The frequency offers shippers predictable transit times and booking flexibility.
The operator expects that in 2026 demand will be supported by car, household appliances, and electric device manufacturers and distributors. Rail container transport from China to Russia has grown rapidly in recent years with the restrictions on Western trade following the Ukraine war. Russia's domestic market has been filled with Chinese brand products after the exit of Western brands. Orekhovo-Zuevo is positioned as a central distribution hub with its proximity to Moscow and rail-road intermodal connections.
