Emissions targets and sustainability concerns are pushing the shipping sector to explore new alternatives.
Wärtsilä is fully aware of this shift and is preparing to bring to market the world's first four-stroke ammonia-fuelled engine.
The company has already received Letters of Intent for 25 engines, with contracts expected to be signed in early 2024.
