AI-Powered Supply Chain Management Revolution: GEP's New Platform

GEP announced that artificial intelligence (AI) can play a significant role in supporting users with little experience using supply chain software. The New Jersey-based software company revealed that it has launched what it claims is the industry's first AI-powered total orchestration solution. The software integrates complex workflows with a simpler user experience while incorporating an AI co-pilot that guides users through the process.

According to GEP's announcement, an increasing share of supply chain software users are professionals from outside the procurement department. These users include ordinary employees, warehouse materials managers, and professionals from legal and finance backgrounds who, despite advances in the software's functional capabilities, inherently find supply processes complex.

GEP Quantum, the company's AI and low-code platform, skillfully navigates users in understanding and guiding procurement decisions. It simultaneously orchestrates processes and delivers superior value by increasing collaboration, decision-making processes, control, and visibility over corporate spending.

Santosh Nair, GEP's chief product officer, stated that within a few years, more than 80 percent of supply operations will be carried out by non-procurement business users. GEP's Total Orchestration Solution provides users with a simple guided purchasing process and offers visibility in subsequent steps, providing conversational collaboration to automatically fulfill their needs.

For example, the new platform allows users to request or initiate something they need by using a simple search bar. Using natural language queries, rather than pre-defined schedules, they can analyze data from any source and create high-level dashboards. Additionally, by automating contract management, it enables users to easily view and manage contract obligations and sub-activities.
