According to Danish financial daily Børsen, Maersk, the world's second-largest container line, is examining a potential acquisition of DB Schenker, being sold by Deutsche Bahn's parent company. Maersk CEO Vincent Clerc told the newspaper that the company is pursuing a "very careful approach" regarding any DB Schenker acquisition. According to Sydbank analysts, fellow Danish logistics firm DSV is considered the favourite to acquire the German transport group. DB Schenker is valued at 15 billion euros (16.4 billion dollars) and employs approximately 72,000 people worldwide.
