\nOn September 13, 2024, the Management Board of Deutsche Bahn AG signed an agreement to sell logistics subsidiary DB Schenker to DSV at an enterprise value of 14.3 billion euros (15.8 billion dollars). The total transaction value, including expected interest income until closing, reaches 14.8 billion euros (16.3 billion dollars).
\nIn December 2023, Deutsche Bahn launched an open process for the sale of DB Schenker in accordance with EU regulations. As a result, DSV stood out by submitting the most economically advantageous offer for Deutsche Bahn.
\nDB Schenker, which has approximately 72,700 employees and more than 1,850 locations in over 130 countries, will continue its development in partnership with DSV in the future. Planned investments of approximately 1 billion euros (1.1 billion dollars) over the coming years are intended to support additional growth potential.
\nWerner Gatzer, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Bahn, said, "The sale of DB Schenker is an important milestone in our efforts to restructure rail infrastructure in Germany and to focus fully on environmentally friendly passenger and freight transport operations in Germany and Europe."
\nDr. Richard Lutz, CEO of Deutsche Bahn, commented, "We have set clear objectives to structurally modernize Deutsche Bahn in the areas of infrastructure, operations, and profitability, and to focus on our core business.
