Dutch Container Merchants (DCM), a Netherlands-based container leasing and trading company, announced it has signed a supply agreement with Chiquita Brands International for 1,000 next-generation refrigerated containers (reefer). Under the agreement, the containers to be delivered will be 40 feet high cube (40HC) in size and will be equipped with Carrier Transicold Container Refrigeration OptimaLine cooling systems and Controlled Atmosphere (CA) technology. This system aims to extend product shelf life while reducing energy consumption.

According to a statement by Dutch Container Merchants, the new containers feature expanded internal volume, allowing lightweight but high-volume cargo to be transported more efficiently.
