CMA CGM has announced the launch of a new weekly dedicated service for Central America's West Coast as part of its strategy to strengthen its global liner network and respond more quickly to regional market dynamics. The new route, which the company has named the Maya Service, will directly connect Mexico's Lázaro Cárdenas port with critical Central American ports.

\nThe Maya Service will operate with a fixed fleet of two vessels:

These two vessels will maintain the weekly cycle uninterrupted. The carrying capacity of both vessels has been determined to suit the relatively smaller ports on Central America's west coast. Through this structure, CMA CGM aims to deliver service continuity, regular connectivity, and weekly frequency advantages.
\nThe service's inaugural sailing will begin on January 2, 2025 with CMA CGM SURABAYA (Voy. 0UC01S1MA).
