Rhenus Group has opened a new dangerous goods warehouse in Bangkok, Thailand. The 5,817-square-metre facility is located next to Rhenus' existing KM19 warehouse in the Bangna Trad area and expands the company's specialized warehousing capabilities in Southeast Asia. The facility is strategically positioned near major ports.

The new warehouse will be opened in phases and will handle both dangerous and non-dangerous cargo. The facility maintains strict safety separation and compliance standards while offering integrated warehousing solutions for mixed cargo types. Marcus Fornell said the investment supports growing manufacturing activity in Southeast Asia as companies continue shifting production through China+1 strategies.

Thailand remains an important regional hub for Rhenus' expansion plans. Pakpoom Chaokaweepong said the new facility improves operational flexibility and supports integrated warehousing solutions for customers handling mixed cargo types. The company has operated in Thailand since 1994.

Thailand's warehousing market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 8.7% between 2023 and 2028. Growth is driven by e-commerce expansion, rising foreign investment and increasing demand for third-party logistics services. Rhenus serves sectors including chemicals, automotive, healthcare, manufacturing, retail and e-commerce.

The company currently runs 14 locations across Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Khon Kaen. The new facility strengthens the company's specialized logistics solutions in line with rising manufacturing capacity in the region and offers customers more flexible operational options.
