ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. reported $481 million in net income for 2025, a sharp decline from $2.15 billion the year prior. Annual revenue fell 18 per cent to $6.9 billion, while operating income (EBIT) dropped from $2.53 billion to $1.02 billion. Adjusted EBITDA reached $2.17 billion, contracting 41 per cent year-on-year as freight rates and volumes both weakened.

The carrier handled 3.66 million TEUs over the year, representing a 2 per cent decline. Average freight rates per TEU fell 18 per cent to $1,551. In Q4, net income was $38 million on revenues of $1.48 billion, with carried volume at 898,000 TEUs and an average rate of $1,333 per TEU. ZIM ended the year with net debt of $2.92 billion and a leverage ratio of 1.3x.

President and CEO Peter Glickman emphasised that amid ongoing hostilities with Iran, the company's top priority remains the safety of seafarers and fleet. During 2025, ZIM concluded 22 newbuild charter agreements to maintain a modern and competitive fleet. Despite pressure from softer freight rates and shrinking volumes, the company is positioning itself for the new period through capital discipline and operational flexibility.
