Russian President Vladimir Putin held a working meeting with Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region Alexander Tsybulsky. According to the Kremlin press office, in response to the President's question about key investment projects, Tsybulsky outlined plans to build a major logistics complex as part of the Arkhangelsk seaport.

The facility will function as a fishing port. It will feature storage infrastructure and refrigerators capable of storing up to 25,000 tons of frozen fish and 200 tons of live crab. Offering storage capacity for both export and domestic markets, the facility aims to boost the economic value-add of Russia's Arctic Ocean fisheries.

Two more logistics projects in Arkhangelsk are being implemented by Severny Proyekt, which operates a fleet of 25 vessels. Arkhangelsk is one of Russia's largest commercial ports on the Arctic Ocean and provides access to the Northern Sea Route. The region is also positioned as a logistics hub for fisheries, forest products, and Arctic oil and gas projects. The new investments aim to capture trade opportunities arising from the northern routes opened up by climate change.
