Freight One (PGK) is known as Russia's largest private logistics company. Transfin-M operates as a leading leasing company, while Atlant functions as a rail operator. The merger of these three companies signals a major transformation in Russia's rail transport sector.


In recent years, Russia has made substantial investments in rail transport. Due to Western unilateral sanctions and instability in the Middle East, Russia is focusing on new transport corridors. In particular, it is expanding its targets in rail freight transport to facilitate trade with China. Russian Railways (RZD) plans to increase rail freight transport capacity to ports by 200 million tonnes annually over the coming years.​


Additionally, construction has begun on Russia's first high-speed rail line. This route between Moscow and St. Petersburg is scheduled to enter service in the second quarter of 2028 and will have an annual passenger transport capacity of 23 million passengers.
