Weekly Supply Chain Report
April 13 - 19, 2026 · 2026 #16/53
This week, we bring together the 4 key events that entered the chronology, in date order.
US counter-strikes close Strait of Hormuz. Bunker fuel shortages loom; global tanker flow disrupted.
In the same period, Bullet attack on US-flag tanker at Bahrain port. Gulf security back in the spotlight.
Elsewhere, Drone attack halts operations at Salalah port. Oman's largest transhipment port temporarily shut.
Then, Dutch inland vessel Sola Gratia sinks at Royers Lock near Antwerp. On the night of April 17-18, 2026, the 86-metre Dutch inland vessel Sola Gratia sank at the Royers Lock near Antwerp after colliding with mooring posts while carrying about 1,600 tonnes of sand; the crew was rescued before the ship went fully under; the wreck lay at about 15 metres depth at low tide on the River Scheldt and was raised on May 3, 2026 by Multraship Salvage and Herbosch-Kiere; the incident underlined how maritime safety, supply-chain flows and port operations remain tightly intertwined along the Scheldt, one of Europe's busiest inland logistics corridors.
