Kazakhstan Railways (KTZ) and transport and logistics services provider PTC Holding have signed a memorandum of understanding to build a multimodal container terminal with annual capacity of 80,000 TEU in the Georgian city of Poti. The project, which will attract a total investment of 30 million dollars, will form part of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) and will enhance the route's efficiency while strengthening its position in international cargo transportation.

In 2024, transportation volume between Kazakhstan and Georgia increased by 62 percent to reach 4.5 million tonnes.
