Traceability and Data Management Collaboration in Seafood Supply Chain

The seafood supply chain has achieved significant progress in traceability and data management through collaboration between Trace Register and ReposiTrak. This partnership simplifies compliance with FSMA 204 food tracing regulations for retailers, wholesalers, and suppliers.

Trace Register has been sharing traceability data with seafood suppliers since 2005 for regulatory, food safety, and sustainability purposes. ReposiTrak operates a network spanning 30,000 companies that share regulatory, financial, and compliance documentation, as well as traceability data.

The new collaboration enables rapid and straightforward sharing of Key Data Elements (KDEs) required by the FDA. By combining the complementary aspects of both companies' datasets, the partnership allows KDEs collected from seafood suppliers to be transmitted directly to retailers and wholesalers without requiring access to an additional portal or system.
