CMA CGM Launches Innovation and Training Center: Tangram Opens in Marseilles

CMA CGM, the major shipping company, announced today the opening of "Tangram," an education and innovation center, in Marseilles, France. The center will serve as an innovation laboratory welcoming 3,000 employees annually, aimed at shaping the future in sustainable transportation and logistics. Tangram is designed to address four key challenges: environmental, technological, geopolitical, and economic. To this end, the CMA CGM Group will develop a rich ecosystem and synergy among employees, customers, partners, major corporations, start-ups, universities, and research centers.

Spanning 90,000 square feet, the center is located in the 8th district of Marseilles, in the heart of Ecole Nationale Supérieure Maritime. Tangram has been designed as a site encompassing training rooms, simulations, an innovation center, and an event space. It also houses cutting-edge technologies such as virtual reality and artificial intelligence avatars.

Offering three educational programs, Tangram operates in partnership with universities including BCG University, Imperial College London, and HEC Paris, delivering courses on "climate," "artificial intelligence," and "leadership." Each program begins with ten hours of remote training, followed by an intensive week-long session on-site. Each session brings together participants from diverse professions and CMA CGM departments from around the world.
