CMA CGM Reroutes Services Due to Finland Strikes
CMA CGM has rerouted its services due to strikes in Finland. The group announced that political labor actions across all Finnish ports are impacting its operations.
\nThe strike began on March 11 and has been extended until midnight on April 7. In response, CMA CGM vessels are bypassing Finnish ports and rerouting their schedules, with cargo destined for Finland being discharged or to be discharged in Tallinn, Estonia. Customers may choose to collect their cargo in Tallinn or opt to have their shipments delivered to their final destinations in Finland once the strike ends. Cargo bound for Finland will be transshipped in Tallinn as planned and will be subject to a freight surcharge of €350 per container ($379) to cover additional costs arising from force majeure circumstances. Standard storage and Demurrage & Detention conditions will apply to all pending cargo.
\nCMA CGM noted that there are limited opportunities for barge deliveries to Finland. The group also announced this month that CMA CGM will be among the founding members of Flexis SAS, an electric van initiative, alongside the Renault Group and Volvo Group.
