Boeing Supplier Accused of Delivering Defective Fuselages

Santiago Paredes, a former quality manager at Boeing supplier Spirit AeroSystems, has alleged that the company knowingly delivered defective 737 Max fuselages to Boeing for years. Paredes said he inspected fuselages at Spirit's Wichita facility in Kansas and noted that the company, which separated from Boeing in 2005, manufactured the majority of the 737 Max series.

During his decade-long tenure, he said he encountered defects continuously and received instructions to downplay the issues. He also emphasized that Boeing was aware of the situation and that it was only a matter of time before a major accident occurred. These allegations have been supported by incidents such as the door plug blowout on a 737 Max 9.

Footage sent to CBS News showed dents and missing fasteners on fuselages. A Spirit spokesperson stated that the company encourages employees to voice concerns and remains focused on continuously improving workplace safety standards.
