ÖZATA Shipyard and Norway-based outfitting solutions provider Maritime Montering have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand cooperation on military vessel projects in Türkiye. The agreement targets the integration of marine outfitting solutions with advanced shipbuilding capabilities on naval platforms.

The MoU was signed during the SAHA EXPO 2026 International Defence and Aerospace Exhibition. Maritime Montering met with ÖZATA Shipyard to evaluate cooperation opportunities for naval and military shipbuilding projects in the Turkish market. The MoU sets out a shared vision for cooperation on naval platform projects and focuses on integrating Maritime Montering's outfitting capabilities into ÖZATA's shipbuilding programmes. The agreement covers local production, engineering support, and technology transfer aimed at delivering high-performance naval solutions.

Maritime Montering Türkiye General Manager Murat Korkut said: "Maritime Montering has provided high-quality outfitting solutions for around 100 military vessels worldwide over the years. This MoU reflects the Group's commitment to excellence in naval outfitting. Cooperation with ÖZATA Shipyard is an important step toward strengthening regional capabilities in Türkiye's naval defence segment."

The cooperation will be carried out by Maritime Montering's local subsidiary in Türkiye. This allows the group to leverage its global expertise in marine interior solutions while broadening its regional footprint in Türkiye's naval defence segment. Building on a track record in civil shipbuilding projects, the agreement establishes a new supply chain link for the military segment.

The MoU represents a strategic step toward strengthening capabilities and cooperation in Türkiye's naval defence sector. With Türkiye's military shipbuilding market expected to grow further through MİLGEM, corvette, frigate, and submarine programmes in the coming period, the localisation of outfitting capabilities is critical for supply chain resilience.
