ADNOC Logistics & Services (ADNOC L&S) has taken delivery of its sixth next-generation LNG carrier, strengthening its global energy transport capacity. The 175,000 cubic metre vessel was built at China's Jiangnan Shipyard and joins the fleet as part of the company's $1.2 billion renewal programme launched in 2022.

Named Al Taweelah, the carrier uses advanced energy-efficient technology and can cut methane emissions by up to 50 percent compared with older vessels. Each cargo can deliver about 1.1 TWh of energy — roughly the winter gas demand of 100,000 households in Central Europe.

"Each new carrier strengthens our ability to deliver energy reliably across global routes," said Captain Abdulkareem Al Masabi, CEO of ADNOC L&S. "We continue to expand our fleet in line with customer demand." The company has secured most of the new capacity under long-term contracts.

Around 60 percent of revenue comes from long-term agreements, including the AW Shipping joint venture. The latest delivery reinforces the UAE's role in global LNG trade while reducing the fleet's unit greenhouse-gas footprint.

ADNOC L&S aims to complete its renewal programme by mid-2027. The remaining deliveries are expected to enter service on contracted long-term LNG commitments serving Asian and European energy trades.
