Energy facilities and refineries worldwide have been rocked by a chain of mysterious explosions and fires over the past 10 days, with the latest stop in Vietnam's capital, Hanoi.

Major explosions occurred overnight at a massive recycled-oil storage facility in Hanoi's Dong Anh district. Deafening blasts were heard for kilometres around; thick black smoke and giant flames lit up the night sky as cameras captured the scale of the inferno.

What makes the Vietnam fire most alarming is the timing. Within just 10 days, 9 major energy facilities across the world have been engulfed in flames. The chain began at Australia's Geelong Refinery on April 15, followed the next day by an explosion in Pakistan that killed 8. Then Russia (Tuapse and Gorky), India, Romania, the United States (Texas) and Iraq (Erbil) oil and energy facilities burned in succession.

In particular, the drone strike on the Gorky pump station in Russia — which hit three large tanks and turned 20,000 m² to ashes — fuelled debate that systemic sabotage may be behind the events. The world is now focused on the truth behind this chain of disasters striking global energy infrastructure. Combined with the early-April strike on the SABIC facility at Saudi Jubail — which has rippled into PCB and aluminum supply chains — global supply chain fragility in energy and chemicals is dramatically on the agenda.

Key Takeaways:
1. 9 major energy-facility fires/explosions across 9 countries in 10 days.
2. The chain began on April 15 at Australia's Geelong Refinery.
3. In sequence: Pakistan, Russia (Tuapse + Gorky), India, Romania, U.S. Texas, Iraq Erbil and Vietnam.
4. Russia's Gorky pump station drone strike: three large tanks and 20,000 m² turned to ashes.
5. Combined with the Jubail SABIC strike, the events expose global energy and chemical supply chain fragility.
