Turkmenbashi International Sea Port, Turkmenistan's largest maritime gateway on the Caspian Sea, shared the country's transport infrastructure and corridor strategy with the international community at the Europe-Asia connectivity forum held in Brussels. The forum brought together representatives from European Union institutions, Central Asian governments, and international financial institutions.

Turkmenbashi port serves as the main transshipment point on the eastern shore of the Caspian for the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), known as the Middle Corridor. The port also forms a key junction for cargo moving along the North-South corridor towards Iran and India. With container, ferry, dry bulk, and oil terminals, it has a capacity of tens of millions of tonnes per year.

Following the Russia-Ukraine war and security risks in the Red Sea, the Middle Corridor has rapidly gained importance as an alternative route for cargo between Europe and China. Turkmenistan's presentation in Brussels reflects the country's aim to further develop its connectivity capacity through investment support under the EU's Global Gateway initiative.
