Ocean Network Express (ONE) has signed a share purchase agreement to acquire a 30 per cent stake in Hutchison Laemchabang Terminal Limited (HLT), located at Laem Chabang Port in Thailand. HLT plays a central role in Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and acts as a key gateway for regional and global trade flows.
The operator manages multiple facilities at the port, including the automated Terminal D, alongside Terminals C1, C2, and A3, positioning it as a leading deep-water terminal operator in the country. ONE's move is set to strengthen its foothold in Southeast Asia, securing long-term terminal capacity access in one of its core markets.
The investment also aligns with broader efforts by ocean carriers to gain greater control over landside infrastructure amid ongoing supply chain volatility. Hiroki Tsujii, Global Chief Officer, Product & Network Division at ONE, said the investment in HLT marks a significant milestone for the company. The deal cements ONE's position in Thailand while aiming to deliver a more reliable terminal service chain to customers worldwide.
