Deputy Health Minister Nurullah Okumuş spoke on the panel "Changing Competitive Conditions and International Relations in Supply Chain Management" at the 6th Medical Supply Chain Management Congress, held at a hotel in Antalya's Belek Tourism Centre.

Okumuş said Türkiye has reached an advantageous position in medical supply chain diplomacy thanks to geography, production capacity and regional diplomacy successes. "We are at the exact crossroads of Asia, Europe and the Middle East. We have serious production capacity in health, defense and chemicals," he said.

Defining supply chain as the process of obtaining products via production or imports, storage, distribution to healthcare facilities and reaching the patient, Okumuş emphasised that even minor disruptions can create patient safety and public health risks.

The congress brings together private and public-sector stakeholders, academia and sector NGOs. Okumuş's message frames a proactive diplomatic narrative that combines Türkiye's geographic and production advantages — keeping new export-line potential for Turkish medical devices, pharma and chemicals on the agenda.
