Turkish energy company Aygaz has ordered a 52,000-ton (93,000 cbm) Dual Fuel (LPG/Fuel Oil) VLGC (Very Large Gas Carrier) to add value across the supply chain and improve supply security against global market volatility. The vessel will be built at Hyundai Heavy Industries (HD Hyundai Samho Co. Ltd.) and is scheduled to join the fleet in 2028.

The signing ceremony was attended by Aygaz General Manager Melih Poyraz, Deputy GM Gökhan Dizemen, and Hyoung Won Hahm and Jun Park for Hyundai Heavy Industries. Poyraz stressed that LPG is critical to economic and global sustainability targets, calling the investment a step in line with the company's "having a say at every step of the value chain" vision.

The new VLGC will join Aygaz's existing four-vessel fleet — Beykoz, Beylerbeyi, Kuzguncuk and Bebek — substantially strengthening logistics and supply capabilities. Aygaz expects more flexible, secure LPG supply and a more competitive commercial footprint.

The move also lands on the sustainability agenda. The dual-fuel LPG engine system delivers lower emissions and more efficient transport. Reflecting Aygaz's 65 years of experience and sustainability focus into logistics-supply chain investments, the order also marks a meaningful Turkish positioning in the global VLGC market.
