Giresun Port Included in MSC's Container Line

Through collaboration with MSC (Mediterranean Shipping Company), Giresun Port has been added to MSC's container line.

At Giresun Port, containers valued at approximately 2 million dollars and containing pet food, minerals, and refined oil products were loaded onto the Gözde Bayraktar vessel, which will operate a route from Giresun to Tekirdağ.

Several key aspects of this shipment:

  1. Regional Economic Development: Giresun Port's entry into container shipping represents an important step for regional economic development. This advance will boost the export capacity of Giresun and surrounding provinces, revitalizing the regional economy.

  2. Expansion of Logistics Network: The addition of Giresun Port to the route of a major shipping company like MSC increases the region's visibility and accessibility within the international logistics network. This creates opportunities for increased trade and investment.

  3. Export Diversification: The variety of products being shipped—pet food, minerals, and refined oil—expands the region's export portfolio. This diversification provides access to different markets and ensures economic stability.

  4. Infrastructure and Workforce Development: This new functionality of the port may require infrastructure improvements and the creation of additional employment. This can have positive effects on the region's labor market.

  5. International Relations and Reputation: The voyage of the Gözde Bayraktar vessel, flying the Turkish flag, can enhance Turkey's reputation and credibility in international commerce.
