The company says the facility will enhance service to customers and advance its operations in Asia. Approximately four times larger than its current facility, this center will increase package processing capacity from 15,000 per hour fivefold to 75,000 per hour.

Scheduled for completion in 2028, the center will be built on a 215,000-square-meter site with direct aircraft access. The fully automated facility is designed to process approximately 1 million tons annually, leveraging technologies such as six-way camera barcode scanning and CT X-ray scanner technology.

According to Atlanta-based UPS, this hub will serve as the primary facility for UPS Hong Kong to handle and sort imports, exports, and transshipments with Europe, the United States, and other Asian regions. This investment will provide UPS and its customers worldwide with more reliable connectivity to Hong Kong, the growing Asia Pacific consumer market, and the Greater Bay Area, which encompasses nine municipalities in Hong Kong, Macau, and Guangdong Province in southern China.

UPS also launched UPS Premier, a white-glove shipping service targeting healthcare customers requiring specialized logistics for patient care. UPS Premier is currently available in seven countries across Asia, including Hong Kong, and is planned to launch in additional regions next year.
