CMA CGM Raises Rates for U.S. Shipments
CMA CGM has decided to increase freight rates for shipments to the United States effective March 15, 2025. The increase applies to container transportation from Asia, the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent, and Latin America to various U.S. ports.
The new pricing will be applied at different rates for 20-foot and 40-foot containers. For example, for shipments from Asia to West Coast ports, an additional charge of $200 USD will apply for 20-foot containers and $400 USD for 40-foot containers. For shipments to East Coast and Gulf ports, an additional charge of $300 USD will apply for 20-foot containers and $600 USD for 40-foot containers.
A similar increase applies to shipments from the Middle East and Indian Subcontinent to the U.S. An additional charge of $250 USD will be required for 20-foot containers and $500 USD for 40-foot containers. For shipments from Latin America to the U.S., an additional charge of $150 USD will apply for 20-foot containers and $300 USD for 40-foot containers.
The price increase is attributed to rising operational costs and fluctuations in global supply chains. CMA CGM states that such adjustments are necessary to continue delivering high-quality service to its customers.
